The Illinois Biotechnology Industry Organization adopts

in the prairie state. IBIO works with the Governor,
state agencies and commissions, the Illinois General
Assembly, members of Congress and federal agencies,
colleges and universities, and other policy-making bodies
to ensure the vitality of the biotech industry in the

Main emphasis in the 2001 session is to support funding
for life science research at our colleges and universities
in the FY2002 budget, maintain a market-driven approach
to pharmaceutical products pricing, support continued
strong funding of Illinois' federal labs, and oppose
legislation promulgated from misconceptions in the agricultural
life science sector.
